Our Experience Counts
Twelve years of experience in business valuations and expert testimony is crucial to you. You're getting a valuator with proven experience who has passed some of the most rigorous accreditation requirements in the business valuation discipline. We have a proven track record of sound judgment as well as a commitment to uphold the highest professional standards.

CPA First
Only we Certified Public Accountants (CPA) can bring an understanding of financial statement analysis, taxation, economics and business management to bear across a wide range of industries. As you might expect, a clear and comprehensive knowledge of those factors is crucial to the business valuation process.

With our analytical training, we can communicate not just what the numbers are, but what they mean. We can analyze many facets of business than others can't. Furthermore, our objectivity and integrity will lend credibility to your presentation.

Beyond CPA
Ed Sarno holds three advanced accreditations in Business Valuation. In addition to being a CPA, he is also an ABV, an ASA and a CBA. That's a lot of letters!

ABV - To earn the Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) designation, a CPA must pass the most rigorous accreditation requirements in the business valuation discipline (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, 1999). The ABV must pass a comprehensive exam testing his business valuation knowledge.

ASA - The American Society of Appraisers is a multidisciplinary organization of appraisal professionals. The ASA designation is conferred on its senior appraisers who have passed competency tests, demonstrate years of experience, and have had their appraisal reports scrutinized. An ASA has extensive experience in business appraisals.

CBA - And to earn the Certified Business Appraiser (CBA) designation, valuation reports undergo an extensive peer review process. The CBA is typically a specialist in the valuation of smaller business.

There are probably no more than a few hundred people in the U.S. with all of these designations. Yes, it is more demanding to achieve these accreditations in the first place. Yes, it is more arduous to maintain these accreditations since each requires adherence to its own extensive standards, and each requires its own set of continuing education and reaccreditation procedures. In a word, we prefer yes over no. Don’t you?

Knowledge Base
Mr. Sarno typically triples the required amount of Continuing Education as prescribed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the PA State Board of Accountancy.
